Why won't the recovery media I created for my Acer desktop with Acer eRecovery work with a blank Hard Disk Drive?

This article only applies to: Windows XP and Windows Vista

The CDs and DVDs made by Acer eRecovery for your Acer desktop are not compatible with a blank hard disk drive. A hard disk drive preparation application must be run before trying to reload a blank hard disk drive. The hard disk drive preparation application can be downloaded as an ISO image and should only be used with Windows XP or Windows Vista.

Note: A computer with CD burner software is needed to convert the ISO image into a physical CD.

When reinstalling the Operating System unto a blank hard disk drive, the hard disk drive preparation application CD must be loaded first to prepare the hard disk drive. Boot from the CD and follow the instructions provided by the application. The application may take 1 to 2 minutes to complete preparing the hard disk drive. Please, do not turn off the computer during this process.
