How to Restore Windows from a Restore Point
This article only applies to: Windows 8
Use the following steps to restore Windows from a restore point:
- Press the Windows (
) key to open the Start screen. - Type Restore Point, and then below the search field select Settings.
- Click Create a restore point from the search results.
- Click System Restore.
NOTE System Protection must be on to create a restore point.
- Click Next.
- Select your restore point, then click Next.
NOTE System restore will not delete any of your files but any recently installed programs or drivers might be uninstalled.
- Click Finish.
- Click Yes.
Once the restore is finished the computer will restart. When it loads back into Windows, you will see a message on the desktop stating whether or not the restore was successful.
